About Us
Five Lakes Lake Association is a membership group of residents who live on the five lakes outside Gaylord, MI. Residents formed the Association in 1998 to represent the best interests of members to protect and preserve the natural character, water quality, and environmental health of the Five Lakes and the surrounding watershed.
A lake association is similar to a homeowners' association in that members share a common area. However, when living on lakefront property, the common area is the waters of the lakes that we all have the privilege to use and enjoy. Along with the pleasure of living on the lakes, residents also have the duty of responsible stewardship. The benefit of a lake association is having a common goal to protect the water, shorelines, surrounding forests, and wildlife for everyone's benefit. The Five Lakes Lakes Association bylaws are set up to do just that.

The Five Lakes Lake Association has a volunteer board that is elected by the Lake Association members. Lake Association dues are $25.00 per home, and are paid annually every August 1. Funds are used to monitor lake water quality, attend inland lake conferences, stock fish, and maintain signage in addition to other projects. The association also troubleshoots issues of common interest with local governmental agencies. Residents living on any of the five lakes receive a newsletter and are encouraged to become a member.
The Five Lakes Lake Association continues to work on many projects that benefit all of our residents. We can always use help and new ideas!
